ABOUT US
Located 3 km from the Crestuma-Lever dam and 25 min from the city of Porto, Quinta de Mourães is a 50 hectar estate through which flows the river Uíma, making the area fertile and lush.
The first buildings date from the end of the XVIII century and the present owners are descendants of the original family. Within the walled enclosure is a garden with fountains and water-falls together with rare species of rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias. Depending on the time of the year the paths and flower beds offer a constantly changing scenario.
Within the estate live a variety of birds such as swans, shelducks, mallards, harlequin ducks, geese, pheasants and peacocks. While maintaining their original architectural style, the house has been equipped with all modern comforts. In addition of the houses and the gardens there is the sunny swimming-pool, the stone flagged drying patio for the corn cobs beneath the welcome shade of the old slatted wooden storage shed, pathways through the scrub and trails winding their way through the forest.
Quinta de Mourães is where modern comfort meets beautiful gardens and forest making it an ideal place for holidays, weekends and relaxing moments.

SCHIST HOUSE
The Schist house is a beautiful rustic house of remote origins, built of schist, a stone common to the area. Due to this geological characteristic, Port Wine, grown and made in this region, is unique and can only be produced in the upper Douro valley. The house was completely renovated in the 20th century while keeping the architectural characteristics intact.
Features:
Five bedrooms "en-suite" with five private bathrooms and central heating (4 double, 1 twin); living room with fireplace; dinning room; kitchen with open hearth; interior veranda, porch with barbecue and laundry room.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, dish-washer, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker and electric kettle. The dinning room has a dinning table for eight people, connected by a wooden balcony to the living room, which features a fireplace, TV and free Wi-Fi. The house also includes a laundry room.
Exterior:
Guests can enjoy a common swimming pool, as well as a smaller pool for children, locker room and a covered area where you can just relax under a refreshing shade, in the warmer months. You can also stroll through the beautiful gardens and experience the rich animal and plant life they have to offer. The pathways and trails through the woods open the possibility for breathtaking walks that can last an entire afternoon.

RHODODENDRON HOUSE
The Rhododendron House, built by the end of the 18th century, has been completely restored. Most of the original construction details are still present and seamlessly integrated in a very comfortable environment. All around the house, you can see paintings, handmade tiles and tapestries, that remind us of life in past eras, when agriculture in large estates was extremely profitable.
Features:
3 rooms with air conditioning (1 double, 1 twin, 1 single), as well as a common salon with a room stove, bar and cable TV, as well as free Wi-Fi.
